Coming off citalopram, how was it?

So after four months on ADs, I think I'm ready to come off. I'm also putting on weight like mad which I need to stop before it gets out of hand.

The reasons for my ill health are almost over and I've made lots of positive changes which I think will help keep me well without an AD.

I know the doctor will taper it off but before I go see him, I'd like an idea of what to expect over the next few months, any one able to share their experience?

Thank you Thanks

4 months is a short period. Is your GP supporting your decision to come off?

To answer your question, it's not pleasant. At least it wasn't for me. I felt worse than when I did before going on it!

The doctor is being supportive, not to drip feed but I went on due to work related stress, the situation is on the verge of resolving itself and as the reasons for my stress have gone, he's happy to see how we get on coming off it.
