Does anyone have any experience of BPD?

Borderline Personality Disorder, not Bi-polar.

DD (20) has been diagnosed with this, and is saying her counselling isn't helping/is making her worse. I've been encouraging her but obvs don't want to make her worse and she has sent me some links that back up her feeling. She's so up and down it's exhausting! Anyone any ideas?

I have bpd. The things which have helped me most are long term psychotherapy and a psychiatrist who is happy to try different medication to find the best thing (currently lithium).

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) has been helpful, if they offer it in your area. Also, meds. Although as Caulk says, sometimes you have to try a few before you find ones that work (I took Sertraline and Quietiapine and bumbled along quite happily on those for a time.)

Sorry that she and you are going through this. Flowers
