I've always been a bit anxious/critical and questioning of myself and I am now looking to get over that. I think some positive reinforcement may help so I am looking to get in to self help books etc.

Has anyone successfully overcome such issues?

One of my friends is doing a PhD on Mindfulness, she swears by it. I was looking at the self help section at my local library today and saw a couple of books on it, so it's easily accessible.

I hope you manage to find something that helps you overcome your negativity of yourself Flowers.

Hi Arsenal
I've read a few. The one I think is really useful is Feel the Fear by Susan Jeffers. It's an old book - written in the 80s I think, so a bit dated, but the ideas in it are so valuable. Would love to know of any other newer ones, as the self-help industry has come on a lot since then. It's full of practical advice.

Another good resource (which I think another MN-ter got me onto is the Mood Gym. It's basically free online CBT. No specifically for low self esteem but it deals with depression across the board, and one of the areas it tackles is low self esteem.
