Not typos or what have you but missing letters, typing the wrong word, missing whole parts of sentences.

Its like I have an auto correct in my head and its gone wrong.

I have noticed it thanks to MN. I have found myself correcting posts loads more, having to repost saying "I meant to say....". Its happening several times a day now, no relation to tirednes, alcohol, stress etc. I have always been a "post first, proof read later" person, but lately I have found that I have really proofread and even then I miss things.

Obviously everyone misses letters out or words sometimes but it seems to be happen too often for it to be flying fingers. To put it into perspective, I was trained in touching typing and my WPM count usually averages 65, which while not massive is still enough to register with typing agencies (I looked into it when I was first looking at working from home).

Its as if the typing part of my brain thinks that it knows what I want to say and fills it in for me, without listening to the thinking part of my brain. But its only happened in the last 6 months or so.

I have read that being peri, pre or menopausal can cause it, or just aging, but I am 41! I am peri, my doctor told me so, but I am worried. Really worried.

Yes, I have thoroughly proofread this several times and am worried I have still missed something.

Hi Bogeyface. I can see why you'd be worried as its so out of character. Are you sleeping ok at the mo or have you been on any antibiotics? That can affect you.

Best thing to do is to see your GP if you can to try and put your mind at rest. Hope all is ok.

any other symptoms? i wondered about either hypothyroidism or a b12 or iron deficiency but i notice you have put this under mental health? Thanks it sounds like it is worrying you a lot but i would bet it has a fairly mundane explanation
