Venlafaxine during pregnancy - any long term effects?

Hello,

I am currently on 150mg venlafaxine. I'm hoping to start trying for a baby in the next couple of years and am not sure what to do. I genuinely think venlafaxine saved my life and despite trying to lower my dose a number of times have got really ill while doing so. I've read conflicting things about whether it's ok to take venlafaxine during pregnancy and from reading various posts on here feel slightly better about the prospect of doing so. I wondered whether anyone had any knowledge about the long-term impact on the child as it grows up as there doesn't seem to be much info about that out there?

Thanks,

Daisy

Check out the Class Action Lawsuits in the US and get off it before you try to conceive.

If you need advice about quitting I've done it successfully and would be happy to advise.

I conceived on venlafaxine but had to stop taking it straight away and was moved onto another ad. It is not a preferred option for pregnancy and you should get advice from a specialist perinatal team if you have one in your area of you are planning a pregnancy.
