Living with it

Has anyone else just conceded they just have to live with poor mental health? Meds aren't for me and I can't have counselling indefinitely and there's nothing else on offer so I just have to live with it.

People don't want to hear that but if I had a physical condition that couldn't be cured they'd understand?

Posting here as I hope someone will understand

I can't answer your question other than to share my experience. I think for some mental health is work in progress and something I need to pay attention to daily.

Im nearly off AD's now and find I use various techniques I have learnt over the years some cbt, a lot of mindfulness techniques and I meditate daily to keep my mind clear. I have to keep doing these things to keep my mind healthy in the same way I have to exercise to keep my body healthy.

I also now just about to embark on some one to one nlp sessions to try and deal with some entrenched unhelpful beliefs that are lingering. I think that there is probably always things that can be done to ease suffering and progressively make a better mental state easier to maintain.
