Severe hypochondria affecting my life

Hi all I'm 36 year old married mother of 3 who suffers from severe health anxiety and bouts of depression. I have been on prozac before and it helped my health anxiety tremendously, I came off it and was ok for a while but then my health anxiety returned, every mild twinge was serious, every headache a brain tumour etc.
I coped fairly well to a point but then over Christmas I convinced myself I had mnd cos of a pain in my thumb. I then thought enough was enough and saw my gp at the beginning of Jan.

The gp was new and decided I didn't need medication and would benefit from cbt. It's now the end of March and except for a 15 minute assessment a month ago Ive not had any help.
I'm not coping very well at the moment I'm drinking a lot in the evenings, eating too much and thinking too much. The gp I went to was completely against medication and said the gp I had before shouldn't have prescribed them. Do I go back to the gp or continue to wait for cbt?

Can you see a different gp? You are clearly ill, the meds helped before, so I don't see why you should be denied them this time. CBT is a really good idea and should be helpful but you need to cope in the meantime.
