Sertaline/Zoloft rash?

I stopped my Effexor and Lamatical in December. I had horrible side effects from them. Anxiety, mania, sweats etc, etc

I started feeling pretty bad again two weeks ago so went to my GP. She wants me to see my pdoc as soon as he is back.

My Psychatrist is away until April. My GP said try Zoloft 50mg to take the edge off until pdoc returns. I've taken it but I'm covered in a red rash and swelling up.

I'm now 9 days in. Has anyone had this reaction. I am covered in hives. Nothing has changed in my diet or lifestyle. I'm itching like crazy and my face is swollen up.

It sounds like an allergic reaction. Call 111 for advice. Dh had one to an antipsychotic, was fine at first but when the dose increased slightly he had a reaction. I don't want to worry you, but please don't ignore it.

Ok will do, taking cold shower and piriton in the mean time. Waiting for call back. Thanks.

Make sure you tell them your face has swelled. Be prepared they may want you to go to ooh or a&e, dh had to go to a&e, they gave him immediate treatment and we were home after a couple of hours.

Off to hospital boo hoo, at least it's not the psych ward. Possibly Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Hope it's not Hmm
