Hypnotherapy for anxiety

I had my first session of hypnotherapy yesterday for the anxiety I have suffered from since childhood.
Part of my anxiety had turned into a phobia which I have had for the past 5 years, I felt happier after the session but not sure if I could confront the phobia just yet, unfortunately an even happened a few hrs later and I had no option other to come face to face with the phobia, I managed it which was very very hard but I have felt nauseous ever since.
Does this sound a normal reaction?
