2 days ago I took a 10mg tablet it made me feel dreadful and today I've woke up feeling so anxious and sick still! Keep thinking I'm breathless which I'm obviously not as my peep flow is 350 and I can talk fine, why do I feel like this! I only took one surely the effect shouldn't still be ?

Can you ring your gp and ask for advice?

I had lots of side effects the first few weeks taking citalopram. Dry mouth, nausea, jittery, spaced out and so on. Was worth it though.

I was on 20 mg for years but am only on 10 now. Some people just use them short term.

I take them for panic and anxiety. Ds1 is showing signs of it now. He's 17 so am hoping it's hormonal and that he'll be ok,. He's going to gp though. It's good he's talking about it. Anxiety is rife in my famil.

Also can I ask the reason you're taking them?

Citalopram is wretched.

Gave me cluster headaches on 20mg. My doc cut it 10mg - no headaches, but still miserable

came off them and went onto Prozac 20mg

go back to your GP and ask for a prescription change, is my advice

Only took one and its made me feel awful!

Citalopram seems to be the marmite of SSRIs, works very well for some, seems to drive other people up the wall

Not a good idea to persist OP, if it makes you feel as bad as that.

Hope everything is OK for you and your DS FreakinScaryCaaw

[great user name btw]
