Tough times

Anyone out there tonight?
Struggling here.
Huge amount of work stress (I am a teacher. ..), mum goes in for an op tomorrow to remove a potentially cancerous lump. I am not sleeping, partly because i am coughing because I have a dreadful chesty cough and partly because I am so stressed. Having to look after mum here at home as she has workmen at her own house. I have two boys too to take care of. Feel a bit desperate tonight. I keep saying to myself, this will pass, but am just struggling tonight...got to work tomorrow and not slept yet...

Sorry I missed this. I have been awake all night - coughing too!. Hope you managed to get some sleep. Can you see you GP and maybe get sleeping pills for a few days. Having had them for a couple of nights it is absolute bliss to go to bed knowing you will sleep and waking up refreshed the next day is wonderful.
All the best for you mum's op. Have you tried talking to macmillan? They support families too and are fantastic - they could give you some coping skills until you find out the score and how to help your mum when she comes out of hospital.
