Everyone is welcome.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 15/02/2015 21:15

I have that Grin but it's stopped now.

Millie2013 · 15/02/2015 21:22

I forget words, I feel like I'm taking French and forget random words (as I do (in France))
And I get letters and numbers muddled up. I'm not on meds though, so it's just my brain!!!
Iwas, your friend sounds lovely :)

Millie2013 · 15/02/2015 21:26

When in a v anxious state once, I ended up with my little finger wrapped around my ring finger and I couldn't entangle it. I actually went to minor injuries as I was convinced I'd dislocated it, or whatever. It was weird and the nurses were very sweet and apparently skilled in dealing with mentally abnormals. They even strapped it up

brightandbreezyNot · 15/02/2015 21:40

Oh dear millie

Millie2013 · 15/02/2015 21:48

I know, I was probably the subject of a letter to the Journal of Minor Injury Medicine (abnormal patient edition)
In contrast, I fractured my foot a few years back and refused to get it looked at, preferring to hobble round, in agony. My excuse, when I finally got it examined? "I've got a horse"...

Ennn · 15/02/2015 21:54

It's fascinating in a way how delicate many of our brain functions are and how easily disrupted.

Ennn · 15/02/2015 22:06

She sounds lovely mandb Smile

I know my speech is always heavily affected by whatever is going on. When I'm low it's very slow and monotonous and not much of it; when I'm up people (doctors, etc.) tell me they've never heard anybody talk so fast Hmm. I stutter on some medications, repeat things on others, emit grunts of frustration at not being able to say the words that are right there in my fucking head Grin, lose words when I have a migraine… when I was a little kid apparently my speech was strange so maybe I just never learnt to do it properly Grin

Earlier I was trying to explain to DP what was going on and ended up stuck during the explanation too, saying, "It's like I'm stuck in a fucking cycle in a fucking cycle
in a fucking cycle in a fucking cycle in a fucking cycle in a fucking cycle in a fucking cycle NGGGHHHH fuckitfuckitfuckitfuckitfuckitfuckit…" Grin

That does sound odd about the finger, Millie. Are you hypermobile?

Ennn · 15/02/2015 22:17

The weather feels like it's starting to get warmer - was out in the garden shovelling up rubble today and it was lovely. And my bulbs are all coming up. Pretty snowdrops Smile

CaulkheadUpNorth · 15/02/2015 22:29

My bulbs are too. I love it.

I've just had a fb invite thing for a friend who is running 69 miles along hadrians wall Shock. Another friend is doing 50 miles for an ultra marathon. These people are barmy, and if they weren't so nice I would hate them.

Ennn · 15/02/2015 22:30

The best thing about going out walking nearly every day last year was watching the seasonal changes. That's a mentally normal thing to like, right? Wink

Ennn · 15/02/2015 22:32

My brother did a twenty mile run this morning Hmm They're all crackers.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 15/02/2015 22:35

Yeah totally normal. Grin

What an amazing person, Iwas, and as you say, all the more remarkable for being able to understand despite no personal experience.

I'm lucky with my family in that they accept and understand MH problems. My schoolfriends were also lovely when I went into hospital as a kid - sent me little letters and presents and things to cheer me up. I haven't had many friends since, though - a school move, followed quickly by a house move to another county, followed by moving to live with DP, during a time when I was too ill to work/study, meant that my circle of friends dwindled to almost nothing and I became a little isolated. I think/hope things may be improving though.

I'm waiting with bated breath for all my other bulbs - I have a new planter after some majorly productive work in my garden last year - it stalled a bit when I got depressed, but roll on spring and warm enough weather to work in the garden Smile

brightandbreezyNot · 16/02/2015 09:12

Good Morning all here to another depressing week. How I hate that feeling knowing I have to go through it,all again.

Ennn · 16/02/2015 09:17

Oh dear bright Sad

CaulkheadUpNorth · 16/02/2015 09:17

Ah but there might be more bits of the week where you feel Not Depressed than there were last week.

I've made a doctors appt to get a new sick note, so feeling pretty rubbish in my identity as a person currently (I Love my job)

Millie2013 · 16/02/2015 09:40

Caulk, I need to extend my sick note, you've just reminded me. I've got an appt with occ health in s couple of weeks, want to find a way to leave work, as I can't face going back
Any more thoughts on a new job?

PollyPooic · 16/02/2015 10:30

happy Monday everyone Flowers

I'm extremely fat and many things are a bit shit but despite that today contains the multiple excitements and pleasures of CPN, physio, yoga, horsebeasts and taking the spaniel for a walk

I like Mondays for the same reason I love NYE because they always promise the opportunity (at least) to do things differently or make Other Choices - if I start again (again) today (and I feel like it would be a good idea) I could be here this time next week celebrating my extraordinary success in, I dunno, not purging for a week or something

maybe!

PollyPooic · 16/02/2015 10:35

things that are nice so far today:

calf raises are getting easier and less painful
a friend sent me a model of a series II station wagon Land Rover, the longer wheelbase that looks a bit like the 110 defender
my body feels nice after being prodded and stretched yesterday
the birds are singing
I remembered to put the bin out
I slept well last night

CaulkheadUpNorth · 16/02/2015 11:33

Those things are very nice.

I have seen a local/daily mail celebrity in my doctors surgery which is always fun.

Millie2013 · 16/02/2015 11:42

Oooh, ponders who that is. Is he/she in doctors?
Your surgery isn't the one in the place with "castle" in the name? That would be too freaky (I used to work there)

CaulkheadUpNorth · 16/02/2015 11:58

I don't know. Probably. It's by the library but it has a different name.

Another four weeks off work. I would be so pissed off if one of my friends had this much time off.

Millie2013 · 16/02/2015 12:03

Yes that's the one. The Drs were nice (if they are the same Drs). The senior GP was always lovely with people with MH issues
Only one grumpy receptionist too ;) (but she might have retired)

Millie2013 · 16/02/2015 12:20

I haven't managed to call the gp. I'm hoping they will renew the sick note without seeing me, but obv I have to actually request this :/
