Friend has overdosed

Friend has over dosed. We've been waiting for an ambulance for over an hour, unsure of what to do, any suggestions?
She is mostly concious, feeling dowsy and lightheaded pkus breathing heavy.
Can i ring to check on the ambulance? Would it be better to just get a taxi?

Has the ambulance arrived now?

Bumping this for you as I don't know what you should or should not do when someone has taken an overdose.

I would ring 999 again. Do you know what she has taken? It would be useful if you have the bottle/packet to give to the ambulance crew.

ambulance still hasnt arrived. I have rang 999 and they said an ambulance is on its way but dont know when it will arrive as very busy.
I have all the packets for the ambulance crew ready.

If you can afford it, maybe you best getting a taxi?

just to update the ambulance arrived not long after my last message. i am now home and she is stable but in over night for observation.
