I have just been prescribed this as I am suffering anxiety and insomnia after marriage split and DS making my life a living hell.

Has anyone taken this - did it work? Any nasty side effects?

I took it for pain and not sleeping think it was about 5mg and it made me feel hungover the next day and didn't help at all, same with the noratryptaline

I'm to take 50mg just before bed.

I'm on 75 mg at night mine is for pain relief it does take a bit of getting used to I felt .

I take this and I have for years.
It works for me because I get a good nights sleep and I'm generally just in a better mood.
I take 20mg at night which I recently tried to cut back on but found that I started to feel empty and that nothing made me happy.
But now that I'm back to the 20mg I feel genuinely happy playing with my DGD and just not as miserable any more- so, yes, it works for me!

I feel anxious all the time, like I have a massive knot in my stomach. I am ok if things tick along nicely but as soon as something goes remotely wrong I just can't deal with it.

I do drink a fair bit at the moment too......that doesn't help i'm sure but I'm def not in the right place at the moment to be tee total.

I'm on it for pain, 150mg at night. It takes some getting used to but I sleep very well on it now, and I'm not too sleepy in the morning.

My main side effect is dry eyes/mouth (I've had to stop wearing contact lenses apart from on special occasions!) but I just carry a bottle of water around with me now.

It's a great painkiller for neurological pain and it's sorted out my crazy insomnia as well. Definitely worth giving it a go.

Works brilliantly for me. I take 150mg. I had depression with lots of anxious/insomniac symptoms and it calms all those down.

I find the side effects are worse at the start of taking it, and then seem to wear off a bit.

Having taken it long term (4 years now), I'd say the worse problems I have in turns of side effects are that it slows down your digestion (not a big problem - just eat more fibre) and makes your mouth dry. The latter can make you want to eat all the time, and so lead to weight gain - lots of glasses of water, and sugar free gum seems to help, though.

The drinking didn't do me any good. It helped me forget the despair for a while but then I realised booze made it worse.

The only side effect I've had may seem petty to some but I can't remember my dreams

Well I took it last night and I had the best night sleep.....whether it was the tablets or the bacardi I had to wash it down is anyones guess.

I feel a bit odd this morning though, like i'm here but not here if that makes sense.

Ah, yeah, I remember that one. I think it's a sign that the drug's starting to work, and you're not so hyperalert, but haven't quite hit a new equilibrium yet. That feeling did seem to gradually go away for me, though.

I've taken them for 2 nights now. The plus side is I am sleeping well but on the down side, I feel odd during the day (tired and spaced out) and my speech is slightly slurred, think I sound like am a bit drunk.

Just wondering how long this lasts for.

I was like that ask Dr to give you small script with lower dose so you can take morn and night for your body to adjust . Mouth is dry all the time sorry that doesn't seem to ease .
