Mirtazapine

Has anyone any any experience of this? I've recently crashed massively and started on sertraline-they made me unable to sleep though so my GP had switched me to the mirtazapine.
I've also got an initial assessment at a local single point of access centre coming up-does anyone know what will happen at this as I am panicking about it?

I've been on mirtazapine for 5 weeks and am now just starting to feel a bit better. I can't say it's done much for my sleep in all honesty but it is getting better so maybe it's now kicking in. The majority of people do find it helps their sleep though. I was the opposite to you and found sertraline really helped me sleep so mirtazapine should hopefully work for you. One thing that is extremely common is increased appetite so be careful with that.

My GP also wants me to try Mirtazapine for my panic disorder and insomnia. She said it's great for sleep and anxiety...would be interested to hear any success stories...

So far I am sleepy and feel hungover-12 hours sleep two nights running and then napping and eating between school runs. I'm only on day 3 so I know I will have to wait a while to see if it helps at all.

It's good that it's helping you to sleep - hopefully the hungover feeling is temporary. Let us know how it works out for you

@MelODrama Were you still able to drive etc with the grogginess? Did you find it helped you with anxiety and was it hard coming off it?

Last night I slept for 14 hours and yet I'm still tired, does it get better? I feel like a complete wreck at the moment but have noticed I am not quite as jittery as usual today.
I had my meeting for my referral and am being passed to the psych team for another assessment-not quite sure what's going on really.

I've been on practically every ad invented. I found Mirtazapine one of the better ones for appetite tbh. There are many much much worse. Didn't find it did much against anxiety. Nor did it make me groggy in the day
