Breast cancer fear

So i was at the doctors yesterday due to pain in my right breast. The doctor checked and noticed 2 cysts. My right breast has also been about a cup size bigger than the left since i can remember. I'm now convinced i have full blown breast cancer and thats at will be found when i go to the breast clinic. I had a gorgeous little girl 8 months ago and i'm so scared i have this horrible disease and i'll not see her grow up. Please help ??

Oh sweetheart - I can completely understand your fear, but the chances are you will be fine.

Lots of women get cysts and they usually need to be drained, I think.

My mum has had lots of cysts in her breasts over the year - all were fine but, like you, she thought the worst.

Hi Lyndz, I couldn't read and run,

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July and am having treatment now so a few things:

1. it's most likely NOT to be breast cancer, really, this is by far the most likely outcome. Please please try to focus on that until you have been to the breast clinic and know for certain what you are dealing with.
2. if it is breast cancer, there are lots and lots of treatment options available to you. Breast cancer is very treatable now. It is not a pleasant road to travel but it is doable. There is a 'tamoxigang' thread in 'general health' which is full of lovely women going through treatment who will hold your hand through every up and down.

I know you won't fully relax until you have been properly checked out, but keep posting, lots of mumsnetters have been where you are now and you are not alone with this

Thank you both for your reply. I'm going on holiday this weekend but feel i wont enjoy it now and will worry all the time. I feel so down in the dumps ??
