Everybody who takes or has taken fluoxetine, did it impair your cognitive functioning, i.e. problems with attention, memory etc.?

It has not had that effect on me.

TheHouseatWhoCorner · 08/09/2014 21:10

Not that I'm aware of. It works well for me.
Are you thinking it may be affecting you in that way?

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 08/09/2014 21:12

It can make me tired and fuzzy headed when I first go on it. But no not stupid. Well, no more than usual.

Why do you ask?

MishMooshAndMogwai · 08/09/2014 21:12

Not for me tbh though at times I did feel a bit cloudy, I found that to be a general symptom of my depression anyway.

Medication and depression effects everyone differently

Worked well for me. Used for about 4 yrs. citralopram(?) was not my friend however.

Since I've started taking fluoxetine my mood has been stable but I battle with cognitive functioning. This may still be a symptom of my depression though.

I have this. Thought it was the meds but it's apparently a symptom of depression. I can forget what I'm working on in the middle of writing an email about that cry subject.

It's another downside of depression hell!

AChickenNamedDirk · 09/09/2014 08:36
  • that very subject.

Odd typo given the subject!

I was on it a few years ago and my memory was terrible!
I used to walk into town and completely forget what I needed to buy. I was forever losing keys, I lost my house keys and regularly locked my car keys in my car.
I was on it for 18 months while I had pnd but even with the terrible memory problems it was worth it to get better.
