I have suffered from a fear of needing the loo in public and not getting to a WC in time for about 4 years now. I have been trying my hardest to overcome it but feel like it is taking over.

It started with an incident where I had drunk a large coffee and then we got stuck on a train with no WC, then there was no WC at the station, I literally thought my bladder was going to burst and had to go into a shop and beg them to let me use their loo. I gave up caffeine and tried not to drink too much when I travelled and was coping with it.

I then moved and had to commute to work and started suffering from an upset stomach some mornings. I was diagnosed with IBS but the medication I was given didn’t help though Imodium does most of the time (but I worry about taking too much). I have tried changing my diet, CBT, hypnosis, acupuncture but although they work for a while the fear comes back. I plan everything around there being a WC nearby and will take a longer journey if necessary. I always wear dark clothing in case I have an accident and even started wearing pads.

DH and I are TTC and I worry that the anxiety I feel is preventing me from conceiving. I have no reason to be anxious, life is good except for this problem. My DH is supportive but it would be great to hear from anyone who is suffering from something similar or has in the past and has recovered.
