Citalopram and booze

I'm finding -a it takes me much longer to feel,jolly, and b I don't gets. Hang over. What are your experiences?

Yes, you can't safely have more than a very small amount, and it doesn't have the same effect.

I was going to start a thread asking about this. I'm just seen the GP and she prescribed Citalopram for the first time. I have a works drinking thing next Tuesday - is it worth taking the ADs straight away or wait until after the drinking session?

Twosmall I don't know, but if you have started them I wouldn't have more than one or two units at the most. You can't really have a 'session' on this drug, and at the beginning of taking it you might get some side effects anyway and you won't know what is to do with alcohol. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

i've been on Citalopram, 20mg, for two years now. I drink as usual on it (up to a bottle of wine over a week). I haven't noticed any changes, tbh, although red wine now gives me a headache think that's more an age thing

I've always been careful with booze anyway; I only ever drink if I'm in a good mood.
