Anyone for a bit of self-harm hand holding?

just self harmed for the first time in months. Each day I;ve wanted to do it and haven't but today I did. No particular reason or triggers, but now so disappointed in myself.

Don't be disappointed with yourself, you're trying. And you got through a few months without doing it, so I bet it will now be easier for you to go another few months, hopefully longer.

Have you got other methods at your disposal, like the rubber band twanging and the ice cubes? Also, are you talking to someone about this in real life?

It took me ages to move away from self harm, it can feel like an addiction can't it? So don't judge yourself too harshly; get all the help you can, take each urge as it comes and believe that you have the strength to get past it.

I hope you're feeling ok at the moment.

Be kind to yourself. You managed to resist before and you will again. See this event as just a little blip.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You've done well to go months without self harming, as PP this could just be a blip.
Do you have any mental health support you can access if you feel you need it?

Thanks, you are all very kind. I have a wonderful therapist who I speak to twice a week, and she is great. Currently out of routine (friends away, job changes over the summer etc) so struggling bit more than usual.

I find changes in routine quite triggering too. I find it helpful to cling to small things that are still part of my day e.g. having my evening bath.

Thanks. It's like a part of me says "hooray freedom, no routine" and another part says "nooo, do what you know, cope with things this way"

Glad to know I'm not the only one finding things tough sometimes.
