Aspartame/Anxiety

I just wondered if anyone had given up aspartame and noticed a difference in their anxiety? Because I don't like water (though I have been drinking a lot of sparkling water recently) I only ever drink drinks with aspatame in. Diet coke, low sugar squashes etc but because I've read it can contribute to anxiety I have cut it out (hence the sparkling water) Has anyone had any positive experiences with cutting it out?

Did it help the anxiety to? I haven't had any for a week but I've read can take around 6 weeks to notice an improvement. Trouble with reading articles on the internet is they see to scaremonger or poo poo it. It's difficult to get a balanced view so thanks for your reply.

aspartame makes my heart race

Thanks. I've avoided it for a week so would be interested to see if it had any adverse effects if I did now have it. Will let it get properly out first I think Smile
