My ds (16) has no appetite and went to see the Gp today but he gave him ranitidine. Ds thinks it's a mental problem. Other thread.

I dont know the answer, but am bumping for you.
Hope you get it sorted.

Perhaps go and see a different GP.

Thanks settingsitting. I put it in MH too and got some replies. He's eaten well over the weekend and been more active so hopefully has turned a corner? If not then I will encourage him to see a different GP.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the GP. Sometimes it takes several visits to develop a true picture of whats going on. You don't know exactly what your son told the GP. Seeing the same one helps to develop continuity and rapport. Obviously if your son feels uncomfortable seeing that particular one, see another.
