maybe down syndrome

well i posted on hee a couple of days ago about my friend who was pregnant and feeling depressed well she went for her first scan the other day and she has to go to leeds hospital for a more detailed scan as they think the baby may have downs. she had two scans but one said baby fine they thought the line they look for may have been on her uterus but the other one said it was on babys neck.. i dont really know what they look for but i just needed to share this this with you all and has anyone had a similar prob that turned out ok on the second scan thanks to you all

They look at the thickness of the babies neck at 15ish weeks. If it was my friend I would advise her to have the blood test called tripple test 15-17 weeks, if that comes back high rise, then your friend can take it from there. xx

nuchal fold (thickness of neck fold) has to be done between 11 and 13 weeks .. it only gives a statistical probability

she is 11 weeks

well she now got to have a cvs test what ever that is i think its when thay take a sample of the placenta. the further scan showed that the babies nose was fine and the head and heart where ok but this cvs test will give a proper result
