Hi does anyone else suffer with self loathing ? It's very difficult as there is a constant disruptive and critical thought going through my head - wondered if anyone else had sucsefully managed it

Watching with interest. I find fault with myself constantly at present. With good reason, I think.

Hi. Yep, can relate to the constant critical thoughts, and I find it hard to push them away or disagree with them, because like you said seabright, it feels like the self-hatred is there for good reason. Even when other aspects of my mental health problems are under control, this is a massive issue and never really seems to go away. For me, I suspect it needs something more than a few sessions of CBT to deal with it, but can't afford any private therapy.

Hello Janey, I try to use my critical thoughts to find the problems with myself and make myself a better person, but as hard as I try, I still feel I am not a good person.

And then I think "am I being a martyr?" because that's not good either. Where is the right balance?
