Appointment with Psychologists

I've been under the care of fist the Crisis team and recovery team at my local mental health trust and have a lovely support worker who has recently referred me for support with the psychologists. Last week I had the appointment with them to see if I would benefit from some form of psychological therapy. I saw a Psychologist and Psychotherapist who was in training and observing. I was asked some questions about what I hoped to gain from it and how my life was affected at the monent. It was an hours appointment. I am taking Fluoxetine and low dose Olanzapine which I've been told will probably be long term, the Psychiatrist has recently discharged me back to the GP for medication. The said at the end I had different elements of PTSD< Health Anxiety and generalised Depression and Anxiety. I'm not sure about the Health Anxiety part as do have a long term health condition which can be life threatening and unpredictable whereas i thought HA was where you think you have something but don't.. or something. I was asked what I wanted to focus on and I said the PTSD seemed to resonate with me most. They are going to meet as a team and decide and write to me soon. I wonder what will happen?

I've been really impressed with the NHS care, To see a psychiatrist was within days and this appointment was 2 weeks from the care co-ordinator discussing it with them. Have written to the mental health trust to feedback on the care.

Sounds really good service. I had to wait six months for my initial assessment for therapy. Even then I got only trial therapy, because of the fear that therapy might trigger an episode. Now I am on the waiting list for therapy to start. God knows how long that is.

Maybe it will be the waiting time for me now. I'll ask the care co-ordinator as she's coming to see me tomorrow.
