Feeling bad after a big night out

Hi all, I went out on Saturday for a friends birthday, it was great fun, fancy dress, karaoke, a club. I've been on citalopram for 6 months and recently have been feeling much better - but today I feel really down and angry. I think this is probably down to drinking, but I just wondered if anyone else had felt like this, and how long it tends to last? Thanks xx

Hi there. I'm also on citalopram and am avoiding drinking as even a couple seems to make me feel much worse. Alcohol makes me very negative the following day even when I'm well. Now I'm suffering from this anxiety I don't want extra help to feel bad. I hope you feel better today.

Thank you, I think I'll be cutting out alcohol for good from now on - it's just not worth it. I still feel pretty low and anxious today- doesn't help that my dd is being very difficult at the moment and work is v. stressful! X

in my partying days I could feel very black the day after, definitely the alcohol!

I used to feel bad and low for several days after drinking. Nowadays I limit the amount so that I don't get any hangover.

Thanks all, did you find you started to feel better after a few days? X

Yeah, I learnt the hard way that a night out makes everything worse! Hope you feel better now xx

Yes I was like this a bit before PND but much worse after. I don't really drink any more! The odd one every couple of months. I don't miss it either!

Massively learnt the hard way on this one too, am on Sertraline. Went on big night out ....

Well f**k me ... Took me 4 days to mentally recover!

Having spoken to others who have also had experience of AD's & "enjoying" nights out. No way, the 2 just don't mix ... for me I was a mess, worse than what I'm on the sodding AD's for in the first place!!! ConfusedConfused

Yep. Same experiences here. Drinking made me feel like I had knots in my stomach and incredibly guilty about something I hadn't done. Was quite dark really.

Took another sleep to clear.
