Skin picking

Skin picking is part of my mental health issues. It can be covered up a bit with make up, but this time I’ve really messed up my face. It’s all swollen and bruised under my eye. In the past I've had impetigo at places on my face where I have been picking.

Anyone else do this and can you learn to control it?

I do this/did this when I was very unwell. I pulled my eyebrows out and now I have a bloody great gap!
It was a bit of a revelation to me when I found out that other people did it too.
As far as controlling it, cut your fingernails short and throw away your tweezers. Have you ever been shown how to use mindfulness as a distraction/way of bringing yourself back to the present? There's some YouTube videos like "leaves on a stream" that are good for a practice. Listen to it with your eyes closed and totally relaxed. Good luck!
