and will my face always be sweaty?? My legs are sort of trembly and i feel like i've got 'butterflies'. Prescription is for anxiety, ironically, but today feel the anxiety and paranoia of a drunk who's trying to hide it. Please tell me it's worth persevering.

Venkaflaxine is a difficult AD for many - usually used as a second line treatment when an SSRI ( eg citalopram or sertraline) has not eased depression. Not aware of it being used for anxiety. Have you had any other meds? If not why not go back to your gp and request something else if you wish to? It is horrid to come off for many people as well.

Venlafaxine is licensed for anxiety (generalised anxiety disorder specifically), Silverstars, so it's not that unreasonable for a doctor to prescribe it.

yes, that's it, generalised anxiety. Dr did say the guidelines have recently changed and now it is a first line treatment for anxiety (didn't get on with ssris or trycyclics, this apparently is an ssni)

I am not saying it is unreasonable I merely tripped to say it was not anything I had heard of.

OP if you struggling with side effects always best to check with the dr who prescribed it so they can advise on dosage and anything else they can suggest.
