For those who have been on it for a while, have you experienced a change in the condition of your hair?

I have been on it for just over 6 months and my hair is literally just breaking off, one side is about 3 inches shorter than the other, i have a layer of hair on top that is extremely short, I'm stressed with it.

After doing a lot of googling i have come to the conclusion that it is Sertraline causing it, and as a result i want to come off it asap.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I've been on 75 mg Sertraline for about a year. No noticeable change in my hair, I've always had quite thick strong hair. How is the sertraline helping with your mental health, is it working from that point of view? You could ask your GP to switch to a different AD, but all of them have side effects so no guarantee it would be better.

Its been absolutely great for my anxiety, ive just had my dosage lowered from 100mg to 50mg and should be off it completely in 6 months or so.

But my hair is really bothering me, ive always had long hair now its shoulder length on the left hand side and just 3 inches longer on the right. I'm convinced its sertraline causing it

I was on sertaline for nearly 12 years I had no problems with my hair. But don't know whether it's at all relavent but when dd was 2 her hair kept breaking off it was really bad doctor gave her iron and it fixed the problem. Could it be an iron deficiency? Just a thought.

Good point natalie ive suffered from anemia in the past, iron deficiency could be possible, and may explain my lunch time naps Blush
