My friend killed himself .

Two days ago , he hung himself not too far from where I live . Leaving a 7 year old behind who is shattered . I just don't know where to put it , that severance , how is it possible that he's simply not here anymore . So hard .

I'm so sorry to hear this--my condolences. I'm afraid I don't have any pearls of wisdom, other than to try to take care of yourself.

(((HUGS))) It is near impossible to comprehend how someone could get to that point. Time will dull the pain.

Was he depressed?

Thanks everybody , I've got close to his family , we are working to raise awareness of depression and suicide. Its been a rough year .

A close family member committed suicide when I was young - it was never ever talked about.

Yes they are , they have started bereavement counselling . His mother asked at the funeral service that all of us take the lesson of his death , and make it a point to raise awareness , talk about mental health issues .. for him . So sad . His exe has now cut contact with his parents , so they have lost their grandchild as well . Truly horrible situation .

I am sorry. This book might be quite useful for you to have a look at. There is a chapter from a religious angle, which might not be everyone's thing, but the rest of it is good.

I am so sorry littleblue. I had a friend die by suicide. All sudden deaths, especially in younger people, are hard to deal with, but suicide is as traumatic as murder I think, it is very very tough. .

It is , it still feels unreal even a year later .. thank you , I'm sorry for your loss too .
