I've been doing it since I was 18. I'm 40 now!
On and off....only at crisis points in my life. At the moment it's out of control. Spent last two days b, p, doing teeth and washing hair and cleaning self, just to be triggered an hour later. I'm exhausted. Throat sore, teeth hurt, hate self.

I don't know how to get out of it
Embarrassed to go to doctor.

If you go, is it just talking therapies or do they medicate?

I dont know the answers, so am bumping for you.

Putting bulimia in the Search on here may bring up a few answers?

Embarrassed to go to doctor.
In my experience, they have seen everything before. Nothing new under the sun.

My doctor was not interested at all when i told her i wassuffering with bulimia. Barely acknowledged it! But, i did also go to her because i was depressed and was prescribed citalopram. Ended up on 30mg.

I also had some private counselling for about 6 months. The doctor wanted me to do cbt bit the wait where i am is over a year.

Apparently SSRIs are good for bulimics. The antidepressents and the counselling certainly helped a lot. I am now pregnant with my 3 rd DC which is a good cure for me, but i must be vigilant after the birth.

OP, please go to the GP. Try to get someone to talk to, either by referral or privately if you can. I also found that admitting it to DH helped .

Best of luck. And i agree with the previous poster - there are lots of useful threads on here if you do a search.
