HI Just hope someone out there can give me some advice. I have been suffering from panic attacks for a while now, have good days and bad days but recently getting worse. I was prescribed propanolol 40mg upto 4 times a day but found the side effects hard so this weeks the Dr has changed my medication and put me on Citalopram, well i just feel shakey all the time is this normal? He says i can take a propanolol if i need it but i just wondered if this is normal when changing meds?
Any advice would really be appreciated as i feel I'm always back at the Drs ?

Well I'm feeling alot less shakey today so hoping now in on third day of citalapram the side effects may start to ease off. Has anyone else had problems at first?

I've been on citalopram for 6 months. I did feel a bit shaky I think. And got very dry mouth and clenched my jaw like crazy.

I think it was nearly 2 weeks before it kicked in properly. Hope you feel better soon.

Thankyou i have been told two weeks by the Dr so hopefully I will continue to feel a little bit more myself each day.

hi lottyland, when I first started on citalopram I felt shaky and nauseous or at least a week. I was put on it for anxiety and found it helped, it just took a while for my body to adjust.

I clenched my jaw a lot as well.

It's hard starting new medication and counselling at the same time as there's an overlap where you're getting the side effects of the new meds, not a lot of the benefits (yet) and starting on the journey of dealing with the counselling.

I hope you feel things are going in the right direction and good luck.xx

Thankyou its already been a long journey getting to this point but today i feel less emotional and slightly more positive.
Its day 4 tomorrow and I've just decided to focus on one day at a time, today is a good day and i hope tomorrow will be too!!??

Woke up and taken tablet, day 4 and feel ok still trembling a bit and nausea kicked in last night but fingers crossed its not too bad this morning. On a positive note i haven't had a panic attack or had to have a beta blocker since day 1 so that must be a good sign ??
