i've been taking citalopram for anxiety for a couple of weeks and some mornings i feel so incredibly tired, even if i've had a good night's sleep. Anyone else experienced this?

for depression and anxiety, i suffer from panic attacks. at the moment I'm pregnant and the morning sickness has triggered my panic disorder(it's all about being sick)
Also depression caused by family troubles. I have found that they are working for both things, I feel like there is a reason to carry on now and the panic attacks are almost under control(although that was also helped by seeing my psychologist again)
I would keep going with it, it can take 3 to 6 weeks to make a change.
the tiredness could just be a side effect at the start that will go. hope I've helped, feel free to ask anything else
good luck

I'm on Citalopram and get very tired too, usually about half an hour after taking the tablet I feel as though someone has hit me over the head. I spoke to my GP about it and she suggested taking them in the evening instead. However that just messed up my REM sleep and made me even more exhausted, so I put up with an hour or so's yawning each morning instead. It's worth it to feel this much better.

I find an espresso or black filter coffee does the trick nicely .

Verso, that's interesting about what you say about citalopram messing up your REM sleep. I have been taking escitalopram in the evenings for 18 months and am permanently knackered even if I sleep well. I might have a go at taking it in the morning for a couple of weeks and see if that makes any difference. Thanks .
