This thread has been inspired by another ocd discussion.

I explained that I have thought that could possibly have ocd.

people are speaking about intrusive thoughts that are associated with ocd.

what would be classed as intrusive thoughts. I have weird thoughts but dont know how to class them as intrusive

Intrusive thoughts are theoretically about sex and/or violence, such a joy. My intrusive thoughts are often about violence and occasionally about sex, horrible but once you realise that you have no control over it and that YOU didn't actually make the thought up yourself it gets easier. I was told to learn to embrace them and they have slowly gone although I had one today and its the first one in months, it involved gouging out a child's eyes. They are upsetting but you learn to live with it. Good luck x

No worries happy to help. I've had dreadful thoughts about stabbing my children with knives if they are in the kitchen and I'm emptying the dishwasher. They are intrusive thoughts and that is all, nothing more. You would never carry these thoughts out.

Happy to chat any time x
