How do I find a counsellor

Hi all. I am still feeling down at times about a m/c I have had and I wonder if it would help to talk to someone about it even though it was a little while ago.

How do I go about finding someone? Do you just pick someone out of the phone book?? I am happy to pay.

Go through GP... they can refer you private aswell. Someone on here might know of a m/c organisation that offer councilling that you can go to direct. ((hugs)) hope you feel better soon x

You could always go along to your doctors surgery & ask to be put down for counselling on the NHS. There can be a waiting list, I think I waited around 6 weeks, but that varies from surgery to surgery. You can have a maximum of 12 free sessions at a time on the NHS. I had one session of 12 & went back to see the same counsellor 2 years later. I found the sessions very helpful.

Thanks both of you, I'll do that.

I didn't know it would be as little as 6 weeks with the NHS. I assumed it would be at least 6 months. wow.
