Help psychiatrist has reduced my meds.

In response to a overdose he has reduced from 30 mg abilify to 20 mg why has he done this?

Perhaps he wants to make sure he's not over-medicating you. Are you getting 7 day supplies? (that's what I'd expect them to do in response to an overdose, reduce your supplies).

I imagine it's so you can't save up pills for an overdose later.

If the adjusted dose makes things worse I'm pretty sure you can go back to the 30mg but you'll have to pick up prescription more frequently.

I has to do this, 200mg lamotrogine a day but had to pick it up weekly rather than monthly to start with until I could be 'trusted' (for want if a better word)

I took abilify briefly some years ago and apparently, depending on what it's treating (bipolar, schizophrenia or depression) a lower dose is more effective. Typically I can't find where I can't find where I read that but if you have a good hunt online you might find it. Maybe that's why.
