Feel suicidal

The final straw, received a letter today telling me my ESA is stopped from 1 November. This is after taking 5 months to sort it out and have only had regular payments from last month. I've been told the appeal (if its allowed) will take months and not weeks. My mortgage company have just agreed a revised payment of interest only and it is to be heard in court on 12 November as they were asking for repossession.
I have no money and am not eligible for any benefits.

Hi, saw your thread had no replies.

I had to google ESA and see it is what used to be incapacity benefits. I am not familiar with any of this but thought any reply would be better than none!

I believe that you have a disability but that it has now been deemed not disabling enough to warrant you not being able to work? Is that right.

Is there an appeal process?

If you have no one to help you with this, I suggest seeing your MP, they can often be brilliant at helping and writing letters if you need support or back up.

Jobs are hard enough to get for the able bodies so I imagine you are worried about returning to work?

Are you on your own or have a partner and/or children?

Please call the Samaritans if you do feel so depressed that you may consider killing yourself.

Please talk to someone, a friend, family and get help from citizen advice bureau.

Martins money tips MSE is a great website for money advice and finances such as mortgages and legal stuff.

Please try and get help and support.

I googled ESA Stopped and there are lots of people asking for help, google and see what others are doing.

Good luck and I hope you get your situation sorted out soon.

Hello gooblediguk,

Are you OK? Everything must seem beyond you at the moment. The DWP are bastards aren't they, they are literally destroying lives but please please get some help, don't let them do this to you.

The samaritans are great, please ring them or your GP, it can help to talk and deal with the emotional fall out first, so that you feel strong enough to cope with the rest of it.

The CAB, could they help? have you tried them? I second what SundaySimmons has said, google ESA and you will find some forums where people in similar circs are supporting each other. I don't know anything about ESA or benefits, I wish I could help more.

Hi if you have no income you should be entitled to some benefits - they are complicated though so seeing CAB might help. Housing benefit, JSA even if not currently getting ESA, etc. Why not see your HV or gp for support and they can refer you for food bank support in short term while things get sorted as well, it all helps.

If u put in an appeal u recieve ESA but a reduced amount while yr appeal is in process, defo go to tribunal and fight for it back.

The DWP have targets to reduce ESA by 50%
So do fight with yr anger energy.

Defo see CAB who can advise u further.

There doing this to billions of people so yr not on yr own.

Suicide rate in uk will have defo raised because solely of this.
