Fluoxetine issues

Hiya,

Should I be wondering about this or feel pleased...
I've just started on 20mg of fluoxitine (3rd day) and I've not had the sick/tired feeling yet- no side effects to be honest. I feel oddly cheerful. My doctor did say that these may take a few weeks to kick in, but I've felt better than I have for ages. Could this a placebo effect, in that my brain is trying to help myself by switching off? By this I mean, its as if my mind is empty, literally blank until I need to think of something-the little nagging voice inside me seems to be silenced at the moment. I know that sounds daft, but I can't decide if I should be worried, and my mind has warped or if the two weeks I had off work before I took the meds has eased some anxiety (which I seriously can't imagine, given calling to Tesco gave me an anxiety attack last Friday) or a 'placebo effect' is taking place. Should I be worrying about hitting a crash soon??
Any advice would be helpful- I know a bit about mh issues, and I know that no treatment works this quick!

I've just stated back on fluoxetine too. For me it always works quicker than the guidelines state-I feel different within a few days. It's day 5 for me and my head is no longer rushing with thoughts and I am feeling more in control although over he last few day I have had terrible anxiety, insomnia and gastro trouble. It won't be doing what it should do yet but I guess in tr process of your body getting used to it you can feel quite different and a bit detached. Give it more time and try not to worry hollow laugh as much as possible Grin

My daughter has been on fluoxetine twice, and apart from dry mouth a touch of nausea was fine. She felt improvement quite quickly too. Good luck on your journey.
