Therapist/counsellor recommendation (Edinburgh)

Can you recommend a good (female) therapist or counsellor in Edinburgh? I have googled but it's all pretty random. I'm looking for someone who hasn't trained in NLP and doesn't offer EFT and that sort of thing.

If you google BACP and UKCP, they have lists of accredited counsellors and you can search my location. Counselling isn't, as yet a regulated profession, so looking for a counsellor who is accredited to one or other of these should give you some confidence.

I would call or email a few to get an idea of how they work and this should give you an idea of whether you might be able to work together. Don't feel like you have to go with the first therapist you find, the relationship is crucial for the therapy to work effectively :)

I found my therapist on the UKCP directory and she had a link to a profile page, with some info about how she worked. I emailed her for some more info and the. We had a chat on the phone to organise an assessment session and it just felt "right". I

I know a few therapist who call themselves CBTplus+, they offer CBT and other therapists, with loads of experience, I think their web site is www.cbtplus.co.uk or along those lines. Hope this helps.
