Yawn. I am so bored of being awake.

I am tired. Brain wont switch off. Not thinking about anything in particular. Just needing constant stimulation.

What I wouldnt give for a -lovely warm fuzzy- Zopiclone right now. I have 4 left but trying to detox? And learn how to sleep naturally again.

I love zopi. The only way I sleep without it is by using combinations of other meds... handful of tramadol/ gabapentin/ whatever. But then I have a sort of hangover the next day. I was so sleep deprived yesterday that I was sick... couldn't do a thing yet still couldn't sleep. Had 12 hours last night plus another 4 today but, guess what? I can't sleep now!

I had it on repeat for 3 months. GP wont give it any more. Despite the fact that Zopi + 20mg fluoxetine at midday held my moods more stable and I felt like a "normal" person for those 3 months and the 2 months last year.

Took 50mg Amytrip but it aint worked. (Back up meds for anxiety.)

Nope. they won't. I have to beg & cry for it and then only get 2 weeks worth, if I am lucky. I had it on repeat prescription in the US & took it most nights. No addiction, just decent sleep = better mood, better life...

When I beg for help, my GP likes to remind me about the risks of addiction & I have to remind him about the risks of me being sleep deprived & crazy...

Sorry you are suffering.

I been on zopi last few nights it works but miss temazapam whch doctor wont prescribe. Not go repeat only 28days so guess will have go back and hope can get some more.

Its helping my sleep but daytime anxiety/panic been given nothing for.

thursdaysgirls · 22/10/2013 16:08

Grockle - thats exactly it. I said to DH I would happily pay for Zopi & Fluoxetine if it means I could take them EVERY DAY and not have to beg and plead for a meds combo that works.

Thursday, I have looked online & all sorts to see if I can get hold of it. Crying to my GP makes me feel like a druggie. All I want is to be able to sleep... I do sympathise.

My GP prescribes me Zopiclone and has done for about a year now. I take two nights running then miss the next night.
He was the fourth GP I had to see to get some help, after nearly falling asleep on the motorway.
Some days I could barely function and the effect on my life was enormous.
I was at the stage where I was going to ask to have it documented in my notes that I had begged for help...just in case I wrapped my car round a tree through sheer exhaustion.
I sympathise so much. I don't think people understand if they haven't suffered.
Can you change GP?

Branleuse · 23/10/2013 14:00

i know someone who gets zopiclone online from america, but it is expensive.

Its such a shame that GPs dont care about insomnia so people end up resorting to the black market

Grockle · 24/10/2013 21:50

That's a good idea, madasa... about having it in your notes that you begged for help.

I have googled but can't rmember why I didn't order any - either I couldn't find it available without prescription or I was too scared to order it in case it was dodgy.

I find seroquel great for sleep. It's non addictive and at low doses does not cause weight gain or addiction. I'm on 1/4 of a 25mg tablet and I'm drowsy within an hour. I used to take half but found I was to groggy to attend to my son in the night.

Oh and I have had sleep issues since childhood.
