First started coming off them very slowly, i.e 100 and 50g every other day for 6 weeks. Then new GP said it needing be so slow. So 2 weeks of 50g each day, then 50 every other day for 2 weeks, then 25 every day then nothing.

Now I should be doing 50 every other day but chickened out and doing 25 one day then 50. On day 3 but yesterday had tightness in my teeth (best I can describe) and now I can see the repetitive negative thoughts coming back, negative interpretation of situations around me, a bit of paranoia and teariness.

Can see driving the away the bloke I'm dating and a negative down mother to my DD. are they just coming off effects or am I going back to square 1Confused

I think you aren't ready to come off them.

When I came off sertraline a few years ago I noticed no increase in negative thoughts and I was well for three years until I started to get anxiety triggered by new circumstances so I am back on them.

How long have you taken them for?

Hi Kim and Alibaba. I've been on ADs for 2 years, first Citalopram then Setraline.

Yes, I did CBT a couple of years ago. I've book a telephone call from my GP on Monday. Starting to feel a bit spaced out too.

Do you think it might be a case of not coming off slowly enough?

You do need to come off them slowly & not rush it. Your body needs to adjust by weaning off slowly. You shouldn't really be going down low then up high again. The meds have a half life. This link explains it.

I have found coming off hard but maybe rushed final stages eg went 100/75/50 slowly enough with no real side effects but 50 to 0 perhaps a bit fast eg 4 days 25mg then about 4 days 25mg on/off so maybe 10 weeks total but only 2 at the actual bit of proper withdrawal. It's been twoish weeks and I had some low days in the second week in particular but not uniformly low eg lots of good feeling too... and no sense of not looking forward to things etc just a bit tired and fluey.

Oh gosh op I don't envy you. I'm on 200mg a day and once ran out for 3 or 4 days, it was horrible.

Wishing you all the best, take care of yourself.
