Hi there- just putting my feelers out on an issue that's been on my mind for a few months. My little sister has battled mental health problems (psychosis and schizophrenia) for about 5 years but in the past 2 yrs has really turned her life around. After lots of tragic stints in psychiatric units of hospitals and trying lots of alternative methods of dealing with the mental health issues, she agreed to the meds route and has done really well on clozaril and lexapro. She has done a course and now holds down a job in her area and met a guy and got married last month. We are so proud of her and happy for her.
My concern is that she really wants to have a baby. I think that means coming off clozaril and onto something else for the pregnancy. I have no idea how this would work in practice. Anyone have any experience in any of these issues?
I want to support my sis in her decisions but I'm really scared she will start suffering from her old demons again...
