Hi there
My 15 year old daughter told me that her best friend has self-harmed, she is very worried. She told me it is the second friend of hers that has cut themselves. I am giving my daughter today to discuss it with her friend, and find out if her parents know, before ringing her parents myself.
My daughter says she has never done it and doesn't understand how someone could.
My daughter is the one all her friends go to and offload on, she gets very caught up in trying to help everyone else.
How can I best support my daughter through this? Obviously she is my main concern, not that I wouldn't do anything for her friend as well.
Any experiences with this will be greatly received. I have no experience with this sort of thing.

I dont have exact experience, but have brought up teens myself, including girls, and know that some girls, like yours and mine, are the ones other girls offload to, sometimes with, quite franky, almost adult problems.

If I were you, I would repost in chat. You might get more responses over there, and quicker. The teenagers board might also be able to help you out, as I appreciate you need some responses quickly

Not to worry. It is just that I knew that you were unlikely to get many responses on this board.
