Palpitations with Citalopram

I've only been on it a fortnight but I'm terrified my heart is going to give up. Dr. Google says it could be very serious or it could be nothing.

Anyone else experienced this?

Why not go to your gp practice and get a nurse to run an ECG on you? It could help reassure you that all is ok maybe?

Are you on citalopram for anxiety? Yes this is a side effect. It does calm down. Usually around the two week mark.

Best of luck

Thanks all. I've halved my coffee intake as apparently caffeine + SSRI's = v bad - and if it's not calmed down by this afternoon I'll trot up to the docs. I've had non for nearly 24 hours now.
