On holiday and stopped my meds (depakote) because of hair loss :-(((

Has anyone experienced this? My hair s falling out by the hand full. Not just the hair on my head but my pubes and my eyebrows. No word of a lie my great auntie is on chemotherapy and it's hard to tell who is losing it quicker.

I stuck with the meds as I have quite thick hair and thought it would slow down but it is not. It's getting worse. Even though I stopped 3 days ago it's still coming out. If you experienced this how long did it take to stop falling after you discontinued the meds?

You have my sympathy, I came off Depakote just under two weeks ago and I think the hair loss is getting better It's hard to gauge though it as I took it for 5 months and I have become used to it falling out . It has only been the hair on my head though not noticed it from any other area.

Have you gradually reduced your dose?

I stopped a week ago and hair is still falling out. My hair used o be thick, now it is thin :(. In my case Depakote was stopped, because it was not working.

Thanks ladies my hair was lustrous and thick now it is blank. I have shaved all my pubic hair as there was so little left.

I haven't gradually dropped dose but the rate it's falling out I'll be bald if I do. I take a anti psych so this was not my main med so I'm hoping I'll be okay till I get home.
