I have a friend who has just started on Mirapine and is feeling very drowsy. Any helpful thoughts

She is recently out inpatient care.

Do you mean mirtazapine?

Consils · 03/09/2013 15:17

I found the drowsiness wore off in about a week-it is a fantastic drug (for me) within around a week I honestly felt so much better. Tell your friend to hang in there.

This med must be taken at night. Also best not to drive until you have been on it for a while. I took 1/2 a 30mg dose for 2 weeks but I had to discontinue as it made my depression worse. Weight gain is another side effect as it makes you crave sweet sugary foods.

Thanks. She is desperate to get her driving license back so that advise is useful.
