I usually ring my local chemist & ask to speak to the pharmacist. They are usually very helpful in letting you know if meds interact. I try to the ring the one I usually get my meds from & they can access your file to see what you are on.

Possible interaction as both raise serotonin levels. But not likely. Depends a bit on doses and different people react differently.

thank you both for posting ,it's a bit hard to know what weight to give to warnings on drugs leaflets sometimes !

Well I am on 20mg of citalopram a day and also 100mg of tramadol 4 times a day prescribed by gp and have been on both for about 8 weeks now. I am ok, but if you are worried, contact your pharmacist/gp.

Thanks straight ,I'm going ahead with the Tramadol .Mentioned worries to specialist nurse and she seemed unconcerned .
Dont want to trivialise as no doubt the warning is because some people do suffer a reaction ,but sort of feel it's like those "dry clean only" labels you get on perfectly washable clothes ....
