OCD, intrusive thoughts etc

Things are very stressful at the moment and I am having stuff running through my head - has anyone tried cbt?
I've had what I now recognise as OCD behaviours in the past at really stressful times but never like this.
Or just anyone in the same boat?

hello, I have had intrusive thoughts for years, mostly around the possible terrible things that could happen to my children. The advice that I have taken is to kind of sweep the thought away immediately and picture something like a bunch of bananas. sometimes it works better than others!

Thanks knight. I'm reading a book on OCD - I've tried that and it sort of suggests cbt, but I am really not sure about the NHS and officially diagnosing - massive waiting lists and something on my notes: I am finding that sweeping it away ( just saying 'yeah that's mental') is better than lying around dwelling on it.
