I have taken 19 mg of citalopram for anxiety for 11 months.

Side effects are outweighing the benefits for me so am thinking about coming off. Anyone else had experience of coming off 10mg and what can I expect.

I have doctors appt next week. But he said there weren't side effects of going on them and I had hot sweats, headaches, clenching jaw, vertigo.

I have gained 10 pounds, have insomnia, feel a bit flat.

Hi, I was on 30mg for 18 months and found that coming off slowly, 5mg a month, gave me some side effects such as rashes and headaches, but they were very trivial compare to when I started. The key is to go slowly, and find the rate right for you. A friend of mine on 20mg came off 1mg at a time each week, she barely noticed a difference.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
