I feel like renaming my road that anyway, it's so f**king depressing here and the school hols make it much worse for me.

DCs 14yr and 11yr broke up roughly 22nd July, we are now nearly a month on, it's school hols and we never see a soul, no kids, very few adults, just old people who stay in their houses 'been there, done that' with their own families and aren't interested in me or mine.

Me and DH take them out when we can and we had a nice week away other than that they stay at home or in back garden, they don't have any reason to go out as no one to play with (there's one neighbours grandson but he's not been around as he's away on hols).

The reason I posted on here is because this is the thing that affects my mood the most and gets me really down, they're nice kids and I want them to have some mates. That's all.

I share your pain, we live in one of those bland new build areas. What about sleepovers or getting their friends round?

How do your DC feel?

move?

The one thing to remember is that they are getting older. So may not be living at home for too may years more.

So some wuestions.
Do you want to carry on living there if they went?
Will the children be able to learn to drive - once they do, they will be off meeting friends anyway.
What do the children themselves think. Do they mind as much as you?
